Professor Eric Kwabena Forkuo is a Professor of Geomatic Engineering, in the College of Engineering, KNUST, Kumasi – Ghana. He holds B.Sc. degree in Geomatic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, an MSc degree in Surveying and Geodetic Engineering from the University of Cape Town, South Africa and Ph.D. degrees in Land Surveying and Geo-Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong.
He has over 20 years of teaching, research and consultancy experience in areas of land surveying, mapping, remote sensing and spatial analysis. Professor Forkuo is a member of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors and Licensed Surveyors Association of Ghana. He has several peer-reviewed research articles published in reputable international journals.
As a university teacher, he has trained undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as mentored young faculty at both local and international levels. Professor Forkuo has considerable experience in university management, and has served in several Boards and Committees, at both local and international levels. These include: member, Governing Council of the KNUST; member, Academic Board, KNUST; member, Development Committee, KNUST; member, College of Engineering, KNUST Board; Dean, Faculty of Civil and Geo-Engineering; member, Residence Committee, KNUST; member, College of Art and Built Environment Appointments and Promotion Sub-Committee; member, College of Engineering Appointments and Promotion Sub-Committee; member, GUSSS Board; among others.
Before his appointment, Professor Forkuo was the Deputy Director of WASSCAL Climate Change and Land Use PhD Programme and the Head of the Department of Geomatic Engineering.
