*AMNESTY FOR POSTGRDAUATE STUDENTS WHO HAVE EXCEEDED THEIR PROGRAMME DURATION*

At its 434th (Regular) Meeting held on Thursday, 14th August, 2025, the Academic Board considered and approved the request of the School of Graduate Studies to grant a one (1) Academic Year amnesty to all postgraduate students who have overstayed their programme duration. Consequently, the School of Graduate Studies wishes to inform all postgraduate students who fall within that category of the following:

1. The Amnesty is up to the end of  the 2025/2026 Academic Year

2. Students who are unable to complete their programme of study by the end of the 2025/2026 academic year will be deemed to have abandoned their programme and will be subsequently withdrawn from the programme.

3. Students  trailing course(s) are to take advantage of the upcoming Supplementary Examinationsscheduled between November 17 – 28, 2025. Students who are unable to redeem their trails could take advantage of the First and Second Semesters Examinations of 2025/2026 Academic Year to resit them.

4. Students who have no trails and have CWAs of 55.00 or above should complete and submit  their thesis on the Thesis Deposition and Management System (TDMS) by August 15, 2026, for processing and assessment.

5. All students are to note that those whose thesis pass after the assessment will be invited for their oral defence on a date to be communicated later.
